 1 T: It’s a lovely day, isn’t it?
S: Yes, it is.

 2 T: What day is it today?

   S: It’s Monday.

 3 T: What’s the date today?

   S: It’s May the first.

 4 T: When is your birthday?

   S: My birthday is on May the second.

  5 T: How do you celebrate your birthday party?

S: The answer is freely.

Step2 Revision

1 T: Who is this man?

 S:  This is Bill.

 T: And Who is that?

 S: That is Ann.

 T: What are they doing?

 S: They are making a telephone call.

 T: Who can act out the dialogue between them?

 Ask two pairs to act out the dialogue.

2 T: Jim will come a little late also ring Ann up . But Ann isn’t in . Ann’s mother answer the telephone. Let’s watch TV and I’ll ask two students to continue the telephone call.

Step 3 Presentation: (Teach the words)

 T: Today is Sunday. It is Ann’s birthday. Let’s watch TV. Everything is ready. All the food is ready on the table. This is a birthday cake.

 T: What’s on it ?

 S: Candles.

 T: Let’s court together. One two --- twelve. So can you guess How old is Ann?

 S: Twelve years old.

 T: Ok. You are very clever.

 T: What’s this?

 S: It’s a sandwich.

 T: What’s this.

 S: It’s a plate.

 T: Where are these sandwiches.

 S: They are on the plate.

T: Did Ann’s friends give Ann some presents?

   Can you guess?

 S: Yes, I think so.

 T: So, there is a big smile on her face.

 

T: Listen. That’s the doorbell. Her friends are coming!

Step 4

 T: We learned seven words just now and we knew something about Ann’s birthday party. Let’s watch TV carefully and read after it .

Step 5 

 Let’s watch a short play acted by our classmates.

Step 6

 Read the test by themselves in groups of three give the students several minutes and then ask them to act out the dialogue.
