Step 1: Greetings and Revision (1min)
T : Class begins! Good morning , boys and girls ! ( Ss respond )
T : Yesterday, we took up a new grammar point . And we know that as for the restrictive attributive clause, the extra information is necessary, while for the non-restrictive attributive clause ,the extra information can be left out. Do you know “leave out” ( Ss respond ) Right !It means “omit” or “exclude”, 省略,遗漏。But please don’t leave out the comma in a non-restrictive attributive clause .
Step 2 : Do the exercises on Page 41( 8mins)
T : Well ,now let’s do some practice .Turn to Page 41 .Look at the exercises in the middle .Do you know how to add some information to the sentences here , using who ,whose ,which or when to form attributive clause . Have you prepared for it beforehand ? ( Ss respond ) For example , the first one ,I may do like this :I finish reading the book which my father gave me for my birthday last night .Here ,no comma, because the information I want to tell is necessary. How about the second sentence ? Who wants to try ? If you use a comma ,read it out ,OK? ( Ss respond ) ( 教参P130 ) … Sentence3,4,5…
Step 3 : Do Exercise 1 on Page 118 (8mins)
T : OK ,please turn to Page 118. Have you done the exercises as I told you yesterday? ( Ss respond ) Good ! You all study diligently ! (Or: Try to finish your homework in time next time !) OK, let’s have a look at them. Before joining the two sentences together , you should first know what each sentence means ,then try to find out what the pronoun in the second sentence refers to . That is, which part in the first sentence does the pronoun in the second one substitute for ? Understand ? ( Ss respond )(If the students don’t understand , explain in Chinese )Look at the example , “it” refers to “the store”, so we put the attributive clause after “the store”, which it modifies .Clear ? Step 4 : Teach the students how to write a thank-you letter .(22mins)

3.Some useful expression
T:I think you all have good manners ,if you are given something ,you should say ( Ss respond ) “Thank you !” Yeah ! And if we visit a friend’s house , we should at least telephone to say “Thank you !” the next day. But if we have time ,we’d better write a ( Ss respond )Exactly! Thank-you letter!That would be a more formal way to express our gratitude or thanks to our friends. Now turn to Page 41. Here is an example thank-you letter. Let’s learn the structure of a thank-you letter . There are three paragraphs here ,right ? Do you know what each paragraph is about ? Para 1,who knows? ( Ss respond )Good

T : Look at the last sentence in the letter . When expressing our wishes, we can use the structure “ wish + sb. + n ”.
e.g. I wish you good luck !( 祝你走运!)
They wish him every happiness ! 他们祝他事事如意!
We can also use the structure “ May sb. do sth ”
e.g. May you succeed. 祝你成功!
T :OK ,turn to Page 42, look at Exercise 2, there are four topics here . Choose one of the four topics and write a thank-you letter after class. When writing , pay attention to the structure . Here is the structure of a thank-you letter , you can refer to it.
