2 Guiding to the new lesson
Ask the students:“What do you say in English when we meet for the first time? What else can we do? Do you know what people do in other countries when they meet for the first time?” Today we are going to learn how people behave or talk to each other?These questions can stir the students’ interest in this lesson..
3 Show some pictures of body language on slide show. While watching , The teacher will ask the students some questions according to the pictures shown on the screen. For example, “ What are they doing?” (They are shaking hands,) “When do we often shake hands? (They meet for the firtst time.)…… During the showing, the students have learned the following body language: shaking hands, nodding the head, shaking the head, kissing and so on.
4 Give the students five minutes to read through the text and answer the following questions;
A In which countries does “ nodding the head” mean “No”?
B Do we often kiss each other when we meet? Who often kiss each other?
C Who often shake hands in the office?
D Who touch each other the most ?
E How should you eat in Arab countries
5 Ask five students to come to the teaching table . Each one explains one part of the text so that the students can learn the main points.For example:
