1. Get the students to act out the dialogue in pairs. Change roles so that each of them gets a chance to practice different roles. Ask one or two pairs to act out in class.

Say: Imagine that one of you is A and the other is B. Continue the dialogue and then change roles.
3. Get a pair of the students to act out their dialogue in front of the class.

Step 2 Fast Reading
1. Presentation: Say: In this period we’ll read a passage about Martin Luther King, Jr. (on the Bb). Although the slavery was ended in 1865, about one hundred years later black people could not enjoy equal rights like white people. Look at the picture in your books. What can you see in the picture? (Ss answer: they are having a meeting and King is making a speech.) Now read the passage and answer this question in pairs:
n Which group of people did King support and how much success did he have?
2. Get the students to do fast reading. And then check the answers.

Say: Now listen to and follow the first paragraph. Before listening, I’ll give you two questions.
n Who is Martin Luther King, Jr.?
n What did he do?
Part Two (para.2-3) His early life and situation of America (on the Bb)
Say: We’ve got the general information of King. Let’s listen to and follow the second and third paragraph. Pay attention to some numbers: 1929, 15,1948, 1856, 1948-1951 (on the Bb). What was about those numbers?
Get the students to talk about those numbers after listening and write the word on the blackboard.
Say: From the numbers we’ve learned more about King, his birth, his education and his political beliefs.
Part Three (para.4) His success (on the Bb)
Say: Martin Luther King, Jr. was a brave fighter. Did he gain any success? Why were 1964 and 1965 (on the Bb) important in King’ life? Listen to and follow the fourth paragraph and tell me the answers.
Part Four (para.5) His death (on the Bb)
Say: Since King fought for the freedom of black people, who do you think would hate him? Could he lead a peaceful life? What happened in 1968? (on the Bb) Listen to and follow the fifth paragraph and answer my questions.
