1.Gerneral Design For Lesson 14-15:

在这一课的学习中,要注意文章内容的完整性.教学环境要连贯,安排有序,在训练学生时要循序渐进,注意培养学生思维的灵活性和能力的全面性---即听,读,说,写.听---回答问题,快读---回答.细读---分析---总结,最后讨论并运用学过的语言,流利的概括文章大意.在讲解课文前,巧妙的提出世界粮食问题这一话题,并用一连串的提问引起学生对这一问题的关注,最后引发学生去细读课文.让学生了解粮食生产发展的历史.目前存在的问题,并展开想象,结合实际,讨论解决不足问题的途径.(04教育资源网,转载请注明)

在课文讲解中让学生掌握与课文内容相关的词汇,并通过练习,复习名词性从句用法.

1.   Teaching aims and requirements:

a.   Ask students to grasp the following words :

Raise/ruin/day by day/in debt

   farmland/starvation/irrigate,irrigation

   repay/make sense/unchever/cash crop

b.  Ask students to have a good command of the

  grammar---Noun clauses: subject clause,

  predicative clause /Appositive clause.

c.  Grasping the following sentences:

1) It is thought that one biuion people, that is half the world ‘s workers,earn their living by farming.(主句从句)

2) If the peasants could farm the land themselves, food preduction world be much better.(虚拟从句)

3) The problem is that most politicians in India are landowners.(表语从句)

4) The fact that farmers are also paid by the Eu for not growing crops surprises many people.(同位语从句)

Today we’ll continue to talk sth about food.

--Have you been worried about food?

--what do you know about the world popular?

  and what about food?

--How to solve the problem?

Collect some answers from students.

Say Now let’s read a passage and answer the following questions.

--Why is the area of farmland in the world getting smaller?

--what are some of the ways in creasing food production ?

  check the answer after reading.

--Get the main ideas by filling in the blanks.

Part 1(para 1—3): Hunger is a big problem in the world .(collect this idea from students)

1. First record of agriculture (date/place)10000 years ago ,in Egypt ,the middle East and India .

2. Present world population billion.

3. Farming population 1 billion.

4. 66% of the world ‘s surface is water.

5. 11% of the land surface can be used for growing crops.

6. Reasons for loss of farmland (conclude by student)

Part 2. (para 4-5)

 Some ways of increasing food production .

1. you can increase the area by irrigation.

You can build dams and water your field.

  You can pump water from low-lying areas.

3. You can develop new plants which grow in poor soil

4. You can develop new plants that are less likely to be attacked by pests and diseases.

Part 3. (para 6-10)

The facts that show human beings haven’t alone well enough to solve this problem .

Reasons for world hunger in different countries .

In Eu 1)Food is bought from farmers and throw away.

   2) Farmers are paid not to grow crops

In India: most land is owned by rich land owners

In western countries: Grain is fed to beef cattle

Step 4 Language points:

1. for one thing …“一则” ”首先” “第一”用于说明文件中常需举例来陈述理由,原因,相当于one reason is that ---
