SBPage20,Part1.The purpose of this discussion phrase is to arouse Ss’ interest in the topic and to get them to verify their guesses when they come to read the texts. For this reason ,do not ask the Ss to  read the texts before the lesson .Put the SS into groups of four and allow them a short time for this discussion .Do not allow then to read the texts yet .Then say Read the passage and see if your answer or guesses were correct .Allow the Ss enough time to read the texts.

Wb Lesson62,Ex1.Go through the exercises and make sure the Ss know what to do .Let them read the whole passage carefully and choose the best answer to each question, working in pairs or small groups .Check the answers with the whole class .This is a good time to deal with any language problems.

b .The minerals …Jordan . = Some of the minerals are supplied by natural springs and some are supplied by the River Jordan .

c. What has made this lake so salty ? : The answer to the this question is contained in the next four sentences

Speech Cassette Lesson 62.Play the tape of the passage for the Ss to listen and follow . Play the tape of part of the passage once more ; this time the Ss listen and repeat .Pay attention to sentence stress in the longer sentences.
