II Revision.

Yesterday we learned something about polluted earth, air and water.

Would you like to look at some pictures and tell me what you are seen?

This picture: there is a blue sky, and beautiful sights but the other the grass is in danger, no clear sky.

There are many rivers, and waters are broad and water is clean.

But the other the river was polluted by oil, rubbish … and seaweeds are too much, animals in danger.

There are many green trees with a long history and forests protect humans, but the other is storm and wind. So many cities were destroyed. So please save the earth.

III Presentation.

Good. Saving the earth means “Saving animals, Saving the plants, and saving our own future.

So today we’re going to read an article about “animals in danger”.

  Please tell me

(1) Who is the most dangerous enemy of animals?

IV Reading

Answer: (together): Humans

(2)”How many kinds of living thing are there on the earth?”

(five million, different kinds)

(3)”Why are many animals dying out?”

(Humans hunt them for food; many places where they used to live have been destroyed; polluted rivers and lakes have been a cause of death)

(4)”Why is the tiger in China in danger?”

  (People hunted and killed them ; forest where they lived were cut down)

(5)”What are humans to do in future?”

  (Using one’s words)

Now look at some pictures and as doing some reading, and describe what can you see?

P(1)    Three billion years after life began, lands and seas form into being. Living things , such as planktons and fish are living in the sea, the earth is the home to many different kinds of living things , maybe five to ten million.

P(2)    Humans played the most important part in destroying the environment. They cut down trees wildly and changed forests to farmlands, also to build houses for growing population. They burned the forests , so many animals had no homes.

P(3)    Many animals live on the earth; such as deer, zebras, seals, dolphins, wolves, tigers,  pandas and so on. They are our friends.

P(4)    There are three types of tigers in China: the  South China , the Northeast and the Bengal.

Ask Ss to stand up and according to the reading and tell every one each paragraph.

After reading, we’ll meet some different

language points.

现在分词做后置定语表示正在进行的动作,要灭绝的动物是老虎

died out 是动词过去式做谓语动词

no more than-后面加数词表示“only”“仅仅”的意思。比较两个事物“两者都不”(=neither)

not more than-后接数词“at most”=“至多”的意思。比较两个事物“不及……”=(not as/so…as)

clear-adj:清澈的;v:收拾整理干净

clean-adj:干净的;v:除去尘埃或脏物使之干净

VI Consolidation:

Now look at the blackboard, we’ll look back what we’re learned: how to do reading?

First,

 we find topic Today’s topic is: animals in danger

Second, supporting sentence.

①give some example: numbers

②including the reason

When we say animals in danger, we also say plants                                                                                                     in danger, because animals and plants in danger, Humans in danger. Why, because the polluted earth, air and water, the earth in danger. So we must save the earth.

Now, we’ll do some reading, you may discuss with your partner and tell everyone which are supporting sentences?
